Google, the purveyor of all things related to all things, has free streaming video now, including talk shows like Charlie Rose, some old movies and cartoons.
It would be easy to dismiss reruns of the Bullwinkle show as a meaningless blip, but it is not. HP, Netflix and others are paying the freight as advertisers.
The service isn't perfect or all-encompassing just yet, but Google will learn quickly where the value is and how to seize it.
And no broadcaster or cable co is getting a nickel.
